It happened hundreds of years ago. Greece and Troy were at war. The Greeks had come in their ships to attack Troy. For ten long years, they besieged Troy but the Trojans would not surrender. There were strong and high walls around the city of Troy. No enemy could enter the city when the gates were closed. The Greeks made several attempts to break down the walls and the gates but failed each time. So, Greeks built a huge wooden horse and was placed on a large platform with wheels underneath. A few of the bravest Greek warriors including Ulysses hid themselves in the hollow stomach of the horse. When troys opened the gates and came out, they could only see the wooden horse left behind by the Greeks. They thought it was the idol of some Greek God.
They gazed at the gigantic horse in admiration and excitement and soon dragged it into the city of Troy. The capture of wooden horse was, to them, a symbol of their victory over the Greeks. They began to celebrate their success with feasting and merry – making. “The danger is over, at last. We can sleep in peace now,” they said to one another. Late at night, they went to sleep.
At the dead of night, when the Trojan were fast asleep, the Greek warriors who were inside the stomach of the horse came out quietly. They opened the gates of the city for other Greeks to enter. The Greek ships which had pretended to sail away, now turned back quickly in response to the signal from their leaders inside Troy. Soon, thousands of Greek soldiers rushed into the city. They killed thousands of Trojans men, women and children. They burnt their houses and looted the city. Even before the Trojans were fully awake, their magnificent city was in ruins. Before they could realize what was happening, Troy was in the hands of Greeks.
Thus, the Greeks succeeded in punishing the Trojans for dishonorable act of refusing to hand over Helen to them. The architect of their great victory was brainy and wily leader Ulysses who brought the long-drawn war to close by a masterstroke of cunning and foul play.
Thanks I learned a lot for my school proect, but the name Ulysses is wrong because it’s Oddyseus.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO LEARN THIS IN ENGLISH I DONT GET IT!!!
maybe history
help mmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we gotta learn it in english to
LOL
I have to do it for DRAMA
lawl, why in dramahh. I have it for history
cause your in America thats our language.
Thank you J.E.for that statement of truth. If people come to this country and expect to be welcome as American citizens they must rightfully adjust themselves to our culture.
It IS necessary to learn this. It is very hard to be taken seriously when coming from a position of ignorance. Unless you plan on being a waitress or ditch-digger your whole life and very little need of making more than an existence, suck it up and do what you have to do to get a decent life. You don’t have to learn what you need from school but you do need to learn a lot of things to be relevant in life. And to be honest, if you are whining about doing what school requires you don’t have what it takes to make it the other way.
hey this chic at tomball

STORY OF TROJAN HORSE FOUND:
Several thousand years ago there were stories about an ancient war between the Greek armies and the city of Troy. This is what is commonly known as the Trojan War and this is the war which spawned the story about the Trojan horse. People who consider this to be an actual war usually date it somewhere around 1300 B.C. More than likely, however, it was not a war at all. Stories like this are often compiled from several different smaller actual facts. It is therefore possible that the entire story about the Trojan War was actually produced by centuries of storytelling and the combination of different facts.
Just because it wasn’t 100% historically accurate does not mean that it is not something that is still talked about. The story of the Trojan War is actually a very interesting one. It got its start when Helen of Sparta was either kidnapped or went on her own to the city of Troy. The Greek armies laid siege against the city and kept it under siege for 10 years. This is an extremely long period of time for a city to be under siege as they would have no food or any other provisions coming into the city during that time. Not only that, but many times the invading army would catapult dead bodies of diseased persons over the wall in order to infect the city. After the army had held the city under siege for that long they came up with an interesting plan to take over the city by surprise.
The plan was to build a large wooden horse, the construction of which was done by Epeius and it was filled with Grecian soldiers led by a man named Odysseus. This large horse was left outside the gate of the city as a peace offering. This was a very common gesture as many times generals would give their horse to the conquering general. The Greek army then pulled away to a safe distance and hid behind another city, even burning their camp as they left to appear as if they were gone for good. The people of Troy brought the large wooden horse into their city and began to celebrate what they thought was the beginning of a peaceful era.
It wasn’t until the city became so full of wine that they could not resist that the soldiers came out of the horse and stormed the gate from the inside. Once the gate was opened the Greek army invaded and completely annihilated the city. All of the men were destroyed in the city was then burnt to the ground.
Although the story is considered to be fiction it has lasted for several thousands of years. In fact, even to this day, many people will call a gift with an ulterior evil motive a Trojan horse.

You know one guy actually stayed behind and pretended to be angry at the Greeks and went inside the city of Troy to make sure that the horse was a gift and good luck. His name was Sinon, he also signaled the people that were pretending to sail away and he let out the soldiers from inside the wooden horse. He was the reason that the war was won by the Greeks.

I don”t know if all of this is write. I think that the Trojans stole a princess from the Greeks and held her hostage until the Greeks gave up. (i think the princess was Helen.) And when the greeks conquered Troy they took Helen Back. This is what was in the story that our teacher read us, but hey, what does she know.

It looks like people who can’t break the addiction have a significantly less deadly option. I am sure glad I got out when I did.
Link exchange is nothing else but it is simply placing the other person’s weblog link on your page at appropriate place and other person will also do similar in favor of you.
Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to
make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why waste your
intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you
could be giving us something enlightening to read?
